The legendary Gutman Cave is considered the largest on the territory of the Baltic countries. It is 18 meters deep, 10 meters high and 12 meters wide. The total area of the cave is 170 square meters. There's a stream of spring water flowing through the inside of the cave. On the walls in the cave is adorned by inscriptions dating back to few hundred years ago. According to legend, there was a tragic story about a beautiful girl named Maija, who died between the cold stones.
In XVII century, a manor house was formed in the territory of Sigulda castle. To this day, some of the buildings from XVIII and XIX century have remained. From the days of the hosts von der Borch and Kropotkin – Summer Castle, New Castle, White Castle, the house steward, house for servants, barn, laundry, cellar for storage of root crops and vegetables – are all still standing.
