We will explore the 6th Oldest City in the world and Bulgaria’s cultural capital – Plovdiv, tour wineries, sample local wines and enjoy local cuisine!

Bulgaria is the top wine destination for 2017 according to Wine Enthusiast! Last year the most prestigious wine festival in the world, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, was held in Plovdiv. Bulgarian wines received 109 medals! Every year in May Plovdiv holds a Wine and Gourmet Festival exposing the world to the finest wines and foods in the country! We will go to the festival together, sample wonderful wines and soak up the ancient Thracian culture of Plovdiv! Have an unforgettable experience!

On our very first full day in Plvodiv we will taste 5 different types of wine. We will stay at a Wine & Spa hotel (yes!), go to the annual Wine and Gourmet Festival in Old Plovdiv (a wonderful way to discover local wines and cuisine) and tour wineries and sample unique local wines almost every single day of our 6-day adventure!

Day 1
Wednesday 3rd May
Arrival to Plovdiv Airport (FR 1836, 20:35) with RyanAir.
Welcome by Tour Leader.
Transfer to Plovdiv (25 mins).
Hotel check-in.
Optional dinner and drinks with the group
Day 2
Day 2 – Thursday 4th May
Breakfast.
Guided walking tour of Plovdiv and Old Plovdiv (2h).
Your city tour ends with a refreshing tasting of 5 Bulgarian wines at a local enoteca in Plovdiv.
The rest of the day is free for you to explore Plovdiv further.
Optional dinner and drinks with the group.
Day 3
Friday 5th May
Breakfast.
Transfer to Villa Yustina.
Tour of winery followed by tasting of wines.
Visit to the ruins of the Red Church.
Transfer to the Todoroff Wine & Spa Hotel.
Lunch in the Todoroff Restaurant.
Tour of winery and tasting of wines.
Return transfer to Plovdiv in the afternoon.
Day 4
Saturday 6th May
Breakfast.
The day is spent at the annual Wine & Gourmet Festival in Old Plovdiv.
Spend the day discovering Bulgarian wines, food and the historical buildings in Old Town at your own pace.
Day 5
Sunday 7th May
Visit to Bachkovo Monastery.
Free time to explore the small shops around the monastery and grab something to eat at the many restaurants or street food vendors.
Return to Plovdiv.
Day 6
Monday 8th May
Breakfast.
Check-out of hotel at 12 pm.
Time for lunch and one more walk through Plovdiv before your transfer to Plovdiv airport at 18:30 (FR 1837, 21:00).
